Kangra tea health benefits:

Kangra Tea is type of tea which is grown in Himachal Pradesh. Tea production was started in Kangra region in 19th century during British government. In 1848 British government did a survey in all over India for tea production. During that period experiments were done in all over India.

The production was unsuccessful in some parts of the India but it went extremely successful in Dharmshala and Palampur.

By late 1880 Kangra Tea was considered superior to other tea’s from India and the demands were increasing from all over the world. During that period of time several tea factories came to existence in Kangra district.

But in 1905 a earthquake caused destruction of several production units and Britishers were forced to sell their fields. By 1910 only a small amount of tea production was going on.

Their are two types of tea grown in Himachal Pradesh, Green Tea and Black Tea. Black tea production counts up to 90% of overall tea production. As of 2015, there were 5900 tea gardens in Himachal Pradesh with yearly output of around 9 Lakh kg.
